Bistro Byronz opens its doors to its second Baton Rouge location, and says Bonjour! to The Settlement at Willow Grove-Perkins Road.
Nearly 9 years after opening its doors to the Baton Rouge community in Mid City, with its signature cocktails, unique design, and undeniably distinct menu, Bistro Byronz will now offer its charming experience and deliciously simple fare to South Baton Rouge. Its second landmark location is set to open on Perkins road at Willow Grove on January 8, 2015.
Bistro Byronz, which is fondly described by its owners to be inspired by the classic neighborhood bistros in Paris and across France, offers a Louisiana take on classis French Bistro fare in an undeniably charming environment. The setting is casually elegant, yet unpretentious and inviting to all. From the white subway tile columns to the octagonal tile floor, to the numerous vintage mirrors and architectural relics that adorn the walls, to the grand black paneled lit bar with zinc countertop, the less-is-more approach to design is curiously infectious. It has come to define the cozy environment for dining, conversation, and gatherings that Bistro Byronz is known for.
Joining the original ownership team with this location is Richard Carmouche, developer of the Willow Grove TND where the restaurant dwells. “From the very beginning I wanted to find an anchor restaurant that matched the feel and spirit of the development….something that felt like it was meant to be there. I have always loved the original Bistro Byronz, and early on decided it was the perfect fit for the community; family friendly, inviting, casually sophisticated and current, and of course with a vast menu of great food that will keep people coming back. I wanted the neighborhood to feel as though they could come have date night, a cocktail at the bar, or bring the whole family for simple dinner on a school night.”
As with each location, Bistro Byronz has replicated the signature detail and feel that the customers and community have loved from day one. You feel like you are in a version of the original Mid-City location that is tailored and adapted to the new community and neighborhood this location now joins. “ That was the goal from day one with our plans to grow and expand” says owner Emelie Alton, a member of the Kantrow family who once sat around a table 10 years ago with her 5 siblings and parents concepting a restaurant that would embody the spirit of her family and traditions. “ We wanted to create a concept that was replicable; taking the core components of what has worked from the beginning about Bistro Byronz, but be flexible and adaptive with other elements so that it is truly a neighborhood bistro that feels true and complimentary to the areas we land in.”
“Willow Grove is a perfect fit for us,” say Mike Kantrow, founding owner and CEO of the parent company. “It is community oriented and allows us to become an integrated part of that community. With this expansion, we can now offer two similar, but unique experiences to Baton Rouge as a whole. We never intended one location to replace the other, rather give BR two ways to enjoy Bistro Byronz depending on where they are any given day”
Bistro Byronz will begin previewing its new location early this week, with the doors officially opening to the public for lunch and dinner on January 8, 2015. The menu will offer Steak Frites, Cassoulet, Pot Roast Creole, Chicken Paillard, Red Fish Almandine and Abita-Glazed Pork Chops among its extensive list of unique entrees. These items will be offered in addition to its famous sandwiches, burgers, lunch plates and salads that bring the crowds to mid-city daily. The BistroBar will serve signature and seasonal cocktails and martinis alongside its curiously addictive vodka Freeze and 19 ice cold beers on tap. The wildly popular Sunday Brunch will begin January 19th.
